About
Our Filtering:
We at
Purity
Link are proud to offer filtered Internet service.
Our service arrives to our users already clean and safe;
there is no software or special settings required. Unlike
with "filtering software," our filter cannot be
disabled or bypassed, and
the detection of objectionable material is made by a team
of skilled human reviewers, rather than by artificial
intelligence or keywords. In addition, our cutting-edge
filtering system
does not interfere with the flow of acceptable data in any
way, making the Internet experience fast and
reliable. We block
access to:
-
Pornography,
Nudity, and Sexual
Content (excludes educational materials)
-
Profanity
and Obscene Language
-
Hate
Groups and Supremacists
-
Anti-Christian,
Cults and Satanism (excludes educational materials)
-
Illegal
Content
-
School
Cheating
-
Newsgroups
(excludes Web-based newsgroup services)
Common
Filtering Questions:
Q: How do
you locate objectionable content on the Internet?
A: Our
database of objectionable Web sites, pages, and resources,
which numbers in the multi-millions of entries, is
compiled by a team of trained specialists
who locate objectionable content on the Internet using
advanced searching methods. Once a potentially-bad
Web site or page is located, it is carefully reviewed. If
it violates our filtering standards, which are based on
principles found in God's Word, it is immediately added to
a master "block list."

Q: How
often do the reviewers update their "block
list"?
A:
Thousands of updates to the filtering list are made every day.
Updates occur in real time, but cause no slow-down to the
system.
The list is maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, 365 days a year. Our service never goes
"off duty!"

Q: How
does your system block access to sites that are on the list?
A:
Every connection that is made to the Internet using a
Purity Link account is configured so that every request
made by the user is compared to our list of objectionable
content. If a match is
made, the request is "marked" as objectionable and the user
receives an error message.

Q: Do you
keep records of the sites customers try to gain access to?
A: No,
we maintain no permanent records of site requests.

Q: Do you
offer parental overrides for blocked sites?
A: No,
we believe our filtering is in the best interest of every
age group, not just children.

Q: If your
service verifies every single Web request, doesn't that
make it slower?
A: No.
Our cutting edge filtering technology verifies the acceptability
of Internet requests in fractions of a second. No
actual Internet data passes through our filtering system
as it is verified.
